About Me

Hi! 👋 My name is Ivan. I’m a Senior Product Designer based in Brooklyn, New York.

I grew up in a small town in Russia, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History and studied Psychology at university. Along with my love for design, this background shaped my approach to creating interfaces that align with how people think and interact with the world around them.

I spent two years in Munich, Germany, and ten years in Moscow, where I gained experience working in various big tech companies (e.g. Avito, Revolut, OneTwoTrip, etc.). During that time, I worked on almost every technique you’d find in a UX designer’s playbook, like Design Thinking, Journey Mapping, Data-Driven Design and so on 😌

Two years ago, I moved to Brooklyn, New York, and started my language and career journey from scratch (unfortunately, my list of employers didn’t carry much weight in the U.S.).

Outside of designing interfaces, I love riding bicycles, motorcycles, and driving cars.

Another passion of mine is writing and storytelling, which I combine with my love for making videos. I have a small YouTube channel in Russian (youtube.com/@beliv) and plan to start a new one in English.

I’m addicted to bookstores, books, and libraries. I also love reading them, and you can find a list of what I’ve read since 2015.

One of my prized possessions is the book 150 Bookstores You Need to Visit Before You Die, and my goal is to visit them all someday.
